For the Casual Golfer – with all the benefits of Full Membership!

This is the ideal Membership package for those of you who:

  1. Wish to start playing golf but are unsure whether the game is for you or not.
  2. Enjoy the game but cannot play often enough to justify the cost of full Membership.
  3. Are temporarily employed in the area.
  4. Do not play very often but would like to enter the occasional Club competition.
  5. Play occasionally but would like an official handicap.
  6. Like the idea of a cheaper membership while enjoying Full Membership benefits.

Annual Membership Fee £ 200 ( Includes 20 Free Points )

Members are supplied with a “Swipe Card” which is pre-loaded with 20 Points (1 point = i game) when joining and thereafter each year at annual renewal time. Current Belmont Members wishing to switch to Lifestyle Membership and who already have a Smart Card will need to present their card for points loading when purchasing Lifestyle Membership.

On check in for a round of Golf, the card is “swiped” through a reader and Points are deducted according to day and time of play as follows.

Weekday or Weekend

1 round of golf = 1 point
Golf Buggy = 1 point

Top up Points can be purchased at any time throughout the year and balances may be carried forward into a new membership year, provided that the Annual Membership Fee is paid. Membership year commences on 1st March each year.

Do I pay an additional Joining Fee?
Yes, Lifestyle membership Joining Fee is £50.  However, should you decide to move from Lifestyle to Full 7 day membership no further joining fee will apply.

How do I, and how often do I “top up” my points?
Top up points can be purchased at Reception at any time.  Each time you play you will be able to see what your points balance is and you would need to decide how many points you wish to purchase depending on how often you intend to play.

What is included with Lifestyle Membership?
Lifestyle Members have full 7 day playing privileges i.e. may play in competitions, are eligible for an official handicap and benefit from Members discounts on our Smart Card system.

Am I allowed to bring guests ?
You are allowed to bring guests as often as you like provided that there are no more than 3 playing guests per member at any one time. Group bookings/ Societies (at preferential rates) can be made by contacting Reception.

What are the charges for guests?Your guests green fees must be paid for using the card system.  There is a charge of 1 point per playing guest, e.g., If you are playing 18 holes on a weekend with three guests the points deducted from your card will be 4 . (1 for you, the member,  and 1 for each guest).

Can I play in Club competitions?
Yes, provided that you pay the relevant competition entry fee (if there is one) and that you swipe your card to record the points usage rate at the time of play. Bear in mind that some competitions may require prior play to qualify.

Can I move from full membership to Lifestyle Membership?

Cards MUST be swiped before you tee-off.  Members found on the course without having “swiped” will be fined 5 points for the first offence and will run the risk of having their membership suspended if the offence is repeated.

Do I have to book tee times and if so, how is this done?
Tee times need not necessarily be booked in advance as we try to accommodate “walk-ins” wherever possible.  However, to avoid possible disappointment, it is advisable to book in advance. Please note that any abuse of the system (i.e.. continual block booking) may result in suspension of membership privileges.

What if I need to cancel a booking?
Cancellation should be made within 48 hours of booked tee time failing which we reserve the right to deduct points for the booking

Swipe Card System for Members

We believe that the following is vital to the growth and sustainability of Belmont Golf Club.

Most of our Members should, by now, be fairly used to the idea of signing the Golfers Register before teeing off. Although not entirely flawless, the system has given us a better idea of course utilisation and it has certainly provided us with more information on the Member, Hotel Guest and Day Visitor ratios, albeit over a fairly short period.

All Belmont members should be in possession of a Members Card (the same one you use for discounts on Food & Drink in the Bar). Your Card is compatible with the new card readers that are installed in Reception and will be installed in the Pro Shop.

Quite simply, all you need do is pop in at either of these points BEFORE teeing off and “swipe” your card through the reader and the system will do the rest.

Unlike the new Lifestyle Membership scheme where points have to be purchased in order to play, Members in the 5 day and 7 day categories who have paid their annual subscription will have their cards configured to allow unlimited Golf within the parameters of their particular category.  Please ask Reception for more detail on Lifestyle Membership if this is of interest to you.

Swipe Card System  -  Questions & Answers for existing Members

How do I get my Membership Card configured to the new system?
You do not have to do anything. Your renewal will be handled in very much the same way as in the past and your existing card will automatically be configured by our Admin .department.

I do not have or I have lost my card.  How do I get a new one?
Contact Reception as soon as possible and a card will be made for you.

Do full Members still need to swipe a card?
Yes. Instead of signing the register, members may now swipe their card at Reception BEFORE teeing off.

What if I forget to swipe my card?
Cards MUST be swiped before you tee-off.  Members found on the course without having “swiped” are advised that there will be a first warning and thereafter will run the risk of having their membership suspended if the offence is repeated.

Can I move from full membership to Lifestyle Membership?
Yes, provided that this is done at the beginning of the Membership year, i.e. 1st March.

Can points be carried over to the next year?
Yes, provided that your Annual Fee is paid on time, your accumulated points, up to a maximum of 10 points may be carried forward for use in the new membership year.

Do I have to book tee times and if so, how is this done?
Tee times need not necessarily be booked in advance as we try to accommodate “walk-ins” wherever possible.  However, to avoid possible disappointment, it is advisable to book in advance. Bookings can be made up to 14 days in advance by phone or personally at Reception or the Pro Shop. Bookings for societies should be made at Reception. Please note that any abuse of the system (i.e.. continual block booking) may result in suspension.

What if I need to cancel a booking?
Cancellation should be made within 48 hours of booked tee time failing which we reserve the right to levy a charge for the booking.

What about my guests?
Guests will be charged at 50% of published Green Fees. A maximum of three guests per member per occasion, will be allowed, up to a maximum of 12 guests per year.
